וּלְעֵ֥בֶר יֻלַּ֖ד שְׁנֵ֣י בָנִ֑ים שֵׁ֣ם הָאֶחָ֞ד פֶּ֗לֶג כִּ֤י בְיָמָיו֙ נִפְלְגָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ וְשֵׁ֥ם אָחִ֖יו יָקְטָֽן׃
И у Эбера родились два сына: имя одному Фалек; в его дни земля была разделена; и его брат'зовут Джоктан.
Targum of I Chronicles
And Ever had two sons. The name of one was Peleg, because in his days the inhabitants of the world were split [itpligu] to their languages, and the name of the other was Yoqtan since in his day the years of humanity began to diminish [itqta'a] from on account of their sins.
